Motorcycle LED Lighting: What to Check Before You Buy

Before buying motorcycle LED lighting, check physical fit, voltage, connectors, wiring and local road-use requirements.

Headlights

Measure headlight diameter and mounting depth. Verify the connector type and whether adapters are required. A 5.75-inch or 7-inch diameter alone does not guarantee fit.

Turn signals

Check voltage, wire count, mounting method and connector. LED signals can change flash rate on some motorcycles and may require additional electrical components.

Accent lighting

Plan mounting locations away from heat, moving parts and areas where strips can be damaged. Confirm the electrical load and local rules governing colors and road use.

Test before final installation

Verify high beam, low beam, brake and turn-signal functions before permanently securing wiring and lighting components.
