How to Choose a Motorcycle Phone Mount That Fits Your Bike

A motorcycle phone mount needs to fit both the bike and the phone. Before buying, check the mounting location, handlebar diameter, phone dimensions and whether you want charging built in.

Check the mounting point

Measure the handlebar or other intended mounting location and compare it with the mount specifications. Make sure the installed mount will not interfere with controls, cables or steering movement.

Check phone dimensions

Screen size alone does not guarantee fit. Cases can add significant width and thickness, so compare the mounted phone’s actual dimensions with the holder range.

Charging or non-charging?

A standard mount is simpler. A powered mount can be useful for navigation and long rides, but requires compatible motorcycle wiring. Wireless charging also requires a compatible phone.

Weather and vibration

For regular motorcycle use, choose mounting hardware designed to stay secure under vibration and exposure to normal riding conditions. Recheck fasteners periodically.

Position it before riding

The screen should be readable without blocking instruments or requiring excessive attention away from the road. Confirm full steering movement before the first ride.
